My trip to Italy

At the end of Term 2 I went to Italy with my mum and brother.  We went to Venice and Milan.  My favourite food was tiramasu, pizza, gelato, pasta and lots of other yum things.
We were away for 3 weeks.

cafe day

Thursday 1st of November Moana 1 & 2 had a cafe day. This amazing day happened at the Wainui beach school hall in Wainui, Gisborne.
The volunteers were Charlie Whitfield’s mum and Nellie's mum, who did the bunting and brought the tea cups and saucers. Also there were a lot of elderly people coming to Wainui beach school cafe day.
We did this because we wanted the elderly to have a good time and also this was a big part of last terms focus which was actions speak louder than words. It made us all feel good and the others that were there really enjoyed this time.
What happened was that the kids of moana 2 and 3 could give the elderly some coffee or tea and a bit of baking to eat to with there drink.
So that is what we did on cafe day and i hope you enjoyed this recall.

What I learnt at cafe day is that some elderly need some taking care of. This was a very nice thing for them to enjoy with some family of friends to the cafe day and get served from moana 1 and 2 for a coffee or a tea and some baking to have when they get there. I'm sure all the elderly's loved the time at our cafe day. I learnt that we can make a huge difference in there lives by doing something nice and heartwarming. I'm sure they will remember this moment for the rest of their lives. Jamie

My quick write

This is my QuickWrite.  We get given the sentence starter and we have to carry it on.  I like this one because it was easy to think of what the world could look like.

In 50 years the world will be dry as a potato. It will be just dead trees dead plants and tumbleweeds. No water no just dry. There will be no humans no life just tardigrades the unkillable little microscopic bug.Only rocks and metals and stuff disintegrating and in another 50 years there will be nothing. Just rocks and stuff. The end

The best words I used were: disintegrating, tardigrade, dry as a potato, tumbleweed.

Digital timetable for learning

Hello my name is Jamie and this is my daily time table.

To find out what workshops are happening, we go to our mail on Monday mornings before school.  There we find a google form that has all the workshops happening for the week.  I know which workshop to sign up for because on the form it has the levels/goals and I know which ones I need to work on.

To fill in our timetable, we go to the Moana Learning Hub and click on the timetable and fill in our workshops that we have signed up for.  We have some gaps during the week, so then we go to the Links to Learning page and fill the gaps in our timetable with activities like: read to self, word work, basic fact challenge, workshop activities and work on maths.

My daily time table is very helpful to help me learn and it is not hard to set up. It is very easy to keep track of and it makes my learning a lot easier.  Also, it makes you be responsible for your learning.  I really like this time table and I think more classes should have it.
